Shingles or Herpes Zoster is an infection that produces severley painful skin eruptions of fliud Filled blisters. It is the same virus that causes Chicken Pox. The virus enters the nerves in the ganglia of spinal or cranial nerves and may lie latent . Reactivation of the virus may result when the bodies immunity is reduced by another disease, shock or stress . It may occur at any age but is more common after 50 years of age.
The initial symptoms of shingles may include a sense of unwellness, nausea, a fever and a slight tingling sensation or itching in an area of the skin . The blisters usually appear on one side of the trunk only but can also effect the face and scalp. If this is the case then add the hypericum oil to your normal conditioner to soothe the scalp.
The affected area is extremely sensitive to the lightest touch.
On another level shingles may indicate that the sufferer is extremely sensitive to fear and tensions in their lives.
The herbal mix that I use to treat this condition includes Hypericum, Euphorbia, Chamomile, Alfalfa, Mugwort and Vervain along with the Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy, Walnut, Mimulus, Aspen and Vervain.
I also recommend applying soothing Hypericum Oil to the effected area.
